Here I am as I'm being wheeled off to the operating room.  I may look confident, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.  One thing that did make it easier to relax was my confidence in Dr. Lawrence Dorr, the man who performed the surgery.  Dr. Dorr is the finest hip replacement surgeon in the world, and I knew going in that I was in good hands.

On a side note, it may interest some of you to know that upon my big return to the WWF in 1986, I wrestled just one match (against longtime WWF enhancement man Bob Bradley) before my hip gave out.  One match!  As the former Heavyweight champ, it was obviously not the triumphant return I (and Vince) had hoped for, but sometimes life throws you a curveball.  The only thing I could focus on at the time was getting better, so in some ways, part of me was actually glad to have this surgery done.
