When I first met Terry Bollea in 1976, I was the NWA Southern Heavyweight champion, and less than a year away from wearing the World Wide Wrestling Federation gold. Back then, Terry was a tall and lanky fan who was eagerly looking to get into the business, and he came to The Superstar for advice on how to do it. But by the time this photo was taken a dozen years later, The Hulkster was sitting on top of the world, the most famous wrestler ever and the idol of millions. Meanwhile, I had made the transition from championship wrestler to color commentator. My health was not the best then, but in many ways it was still a great period of my life, brother, and at the time, The Hulk and I were the best of friends.
