People often associate Roy Shire with the city of San Francisco, but his Northern California promotion traveled to many cities outside of `Frisco.  Richmond, California, the city where this photo was taken back in `71, was a very hot town for Shire, as was San Jose and others.  But after spending the first few months of my career wrestling for Stu Hart up in the bitter cold of Calgary, the beautiful Northern Califormia climate was a welcome change, and back then, riding the many hours between Shire's towns was almost a pleasure for me.
