In 1980, CBS Sports broadcasted The Worlds Strongest Man Competition, which was a strongman contest featuring famous sports celebrities competing against each other in traditional and non-traditional tests of strength.  Athletes from several sports genres were represented, including professional weightlifters, football players, body builders, and yes, pro wrestlers.  "Superstar" Graham took part in the high-profile competition, and excelled against the heavily favored "legitimate" sports stars.  After doing very well in the initials events, The Superstar suffered a shoulder injury mid-way through the compeition, and had to drop out early. However, based on the strength of the points he accumulated in the initial events, Graham still ended up placing 7th overall, out of a field of ten.  By proving himself against "real" athletes, Graham earned a great deal of respect for himself and his often ridiculed profession.
