Many wrestling fans who were not around back in the early eighties to witness Kevin Sullivan's truly bizarre devil-worship angle have neverthless heard about this bizarre era in Florida wrestling history and the controversial, taboo storyline has gained a strange type of notoriety over the years.  However, it may surprise some fans to know that "Superstar" Billy Graham was a key element of Sullivan's twisted tale, and at one time was one of Sullivan's band of brain-washed disciples.  As illustrated in this photo, The Superstar paid a heavy (storyline) price when he finally broke free of The Taskmaster's demonic influence.

This scenario, when written down, sounds somewhat ridiculous, if not downright stupid.  And to be honest, in many ways, it was.  However, I remember watching this whole 'Sully Meets Satan' storyline play out on cable as a teenager, and it was pretty riveting television, especially when compared to what was going on in other promotions at the time.  I may have a different opinion today, but back then, that storyline was one of the few things that kept me tuning into the once-mighty-but-quickly-sinking Championship Wrestling from Florida program.  I'm sure my case was not unique, and in that sense, the infamous, somewhat tasteless angle (which was clearly decades ahead of its time) can only be considered a success.
